Tweak Windows 8 Apps and Alternatives

Windows 8 is not as versatile and customizable. In fact, the operating system cannot be configured out-of-the-box and seems to be lacking numerous features, the most notable being the traditional Start Button and the Start Menu.  

Then again, Windows 8 is still Windows and hence, you can use a wide selection of third-party applications to make suitable for your needs and preferences. If you are not satisfied with the appearance, then there are numerous tools on the market that allow you to bring back some of the features familiar in Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.

At the same time, you can enhance the overall stability and use a vast array of tweaks that allow you to adjust the icons, thumbnails, margin sizes and appearances. Other customization options worth mentioning include modifications to the Metro UI or adding various animated tweaks and transitions in the File Explorer.
