Open Virtual CD Files

Virtual CDs are discs that the operating system, through various utilities, third-party or not, reads as being physical ones, when they are actually disc images (formatted as ISO or other extensions).

As stated above, in order to access the contents of such files, users will need to turn to certain specialized applications that will create virtual CD/DVD-reading units on the target computer and mount the disc images as if they were physical ones.

The utilities that can mount and unmount virtual discs on the target computer often provide the possibility to create custom disc images in a similar manner as creating a physical CD or DVD: you just need to place the files you want to be present on them and compile them into an appropriate virtual disk extension.

Users will need to be aware that these software tools do not burn these files onto physical discs, they can only mount the disk images on the computer of their choice.
